For several months, a large number of collectors expressed their disappointment to me to know that the book on German daggers was out of print, and they asked me if I was considering a reissue. After careful consideration, I decided to work on a limited edition of 350 copies of this book by also adding variants of German knives that did not appear in the previous book. A total of several hundred knives are offered using more than 1100 color photos. The still concise texts have not been deeply modified. Nothing really conclusive has appeared in recent years that could be added to it. Above all, I transformed the format by changing it to A4 in order to better highlight the objects presented. The number of pages has increased from 256 to 288, following the addition of several knives and daggers that I did not have in the first version, always associated with new period photos, extraordinary visual testimonies of soldiers carrying these weapons. I also present some new copies that will be difficult to authenticate in a few years. This book will be for a long time the most complete study on the knives and dagger-bayonets used by the German army during the period 1914 - 1945. You will find unique pieces, such as examples of knives and dagger-bayonets personalized by their owners according to their military background, or the rare specimens bearing regimental markings. Also represented are most of the variants of knives and daggers that the civilian market offered for sale bearing patriotic allegories on the blade, associated with color engravings. The collaboration with French museums and collectors, but also German, English, American, Australian, Italian was essential in the realization of this work.
